Comitato di Manila

The Manila chapter or Comitato di Manila of Società Dante Alighieri was founded in 2005 as a non-profit organization and has since then offered Italian language courses, translated documents from English to Italian (and viceversa), and organized cultural events in the Philippines. 

The purpose of our institution is to promote the Italian language and culture in the local context by bridging relations and facilitating connections within the Filipino-Italian community, or simply by gathering Italian culture enthusiasts.

We liaise and coordinate directly with the headquarters of Società Dante Alighieri based in Rome to align with our activities in Manila. As an authorized center, we also offer the PLIDA (Progetto Lingua Italiana Dante Alighieri), a language proficiency exam which attests one’s level in Italian.
